CHAPTER OF THE YEAR

The Texas DECA Chapter of the Year program is built to help chapters develop a well-rounded program. Chapters receive points for each activity they participate in. The top 10 overall chapters will be recognized on social media prior to the State Career Development Conference. The top 3 chapters overall and the top 3 chapters in their first or second year will be recognized on stage where the Top Chapter in each category will receive a plaque. Below, you will find descriptions, resources, and submission instructions for each section. You can scroll through the sections to see the information, or you can click on the specific section you would like to see and it will take you there.

CHAPTER OF THE YEAR

All Texas DECA chapters with the exception of first and second year chapters will be included in the Chapter of the Year scoring.

NEW CHAPTER OF THE YEAR

Texas DECA Chapters in their first and second year will be included in the New Chapter of the Year category. After a chapter has placed in the top 3 in the New Chapter of the Year category, they will no longer be moved to the chapter of the year category even if they are in the first year when they place in the top 3 of the new category.

A few of the scoring categories have modifications for chapters in the New Chapter category. Those modifications are noted with the scoring category below.
